Settlement Area:

This area is designed to house the juvenile abalone from 4-5 days old through to 6 months old. These tanks provide the ideal environment for the abalone to graze on natural algae that grow on the plastic sheets.

Nursery:

The abalone spend up to 12 months in this area, which encourages the abalone to be weaned from algae on to artificial foods and become acclimatized to the characteristics of the slab tanks.
